My husband and I are hoping to expand our little family soon and we know that we want to go with Becka again for our pregnancy and delivery. She really knows what she’s doing, she’s bubbly and easy to feel comfortable around. She’s good at easing your fears and and carries a peace that I really needed during labour. I would definitely recommend her.Marie Burtness
I really enjoyed having Becka as my midwife. Her prenatals were informative, personable, and she offered great advice on nutrition among other things. She did a great job of talking us through our concerns and letting us know what to expect. She was easy to get a hold of and would text back quickly, even if it was late at night.Marie Burtness
My labor lasted THREE DAYS right at the peak of the holiday season and Becka was by our side every step of the way. She was responsive day or night, came over in a moments notice (even it was just to calm my nerves), and was strong when I needed her most. If I have any more children, she’ll be the first person I call.Danielle Cearbaugh
In Redding, it’s hard to find a healthy combination of professionalism and genuine love for what they do. Becka is one of those rare people. It is evident that she is passionate about what she does, and that passion shows from the initial visit all the way through our last time meeting with her. When choosing a midwife, Becka was by far the best choice my wife and I could have made.Josh Cearbaugh

As direct entry midwives we are specifically trained to attend out of hospital births. When care is given in your own home you are in your comfort zone where the labor and birth is allowed to unfold at its own pace, and the mother is the center of focus and attention.

I am a California Licensed Midwife, and a Certified Professional Midwife and have attended over 350 births, in homes, births centers and hospitals.
Having lived in Redding for the past 4 years, I have been honored to start a home birth practice here, serving families from all walks of life. I see birth as a normal process and wants to give families a safe, healthy, and fulfilling birth experience.
I have always enjoyed encouraging people and sharing knowledge with them, especially about health. As a freshman at Friends University, Wichita, Kansas I had the opportunity to interview a midwife and thought it sounded like a fascinating profession.
The next autumn my family opened up their home to some friends needing a place to have a home birth. I vividly remember the moment, right after the baby was born, the new mother holding the baby saying …
“This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen.”
I knew I wanted to be a midwife since I was 17 years old. And here I am at age 22 finally on my journey!
I have a passion to serve families and to see babies enter into our world in a way they deserve to come. My heart is to mother all people, but my particular call is to co-labor (puns) with mothers, and families to give them the God given care they deserve.
I am currently a student at The National College of Midwifery and plan to become licensed in year 2016. From there I’m not sure whether I will practice in Redding or elsewhere!
For as long as I can remember, my heart has been to serve families through all stages of life. My mother has a picture of me pretending to breastfeed my baby doll as a three year old, so we knew at a young age that women and children were of interest to my heart.
In the last few years Midwifery has fallen into my lap and doors have opened to begin attending births wearing a variety of hats. Falling more in love with the whole journey I have found myself as a midwife student through National College of Midwifery, doula, childbirth educator, and placenta encapsulation specialist.
I have lived in Redding for two years and will be planning on starting my practice here in town when licensed.
I grew up going to births – I am a second-generation midwife.
By the time I was 23 I had attended about 30 births as a friend, doula, and Midwifery assistant. In 2010 I went to Asia to volunteer as a birth educator and doula. I came to Redding in September 2012 with the goal of finishing my midwifery training. I’m a passionate believer in the Divine given right of every woman to choose her birthing environment and attendants. Every Mamababy should be respected and cherished for the Divine treasure that they are, by their birth caregivers.
I am currently enrolled in the National College of Midwifery and It is my hope and goal to one day have my PhD. in the Philosophy of Midwifery and to write the next generation of textbooks. I love Mamababies!
I grew up in Williams, Oregon, on a small farm riding horses and raising dairy goats.
Midwifery and birth has always interested me, and when I moved to Redding and got to know Becka, I realized it is something I wanted to pursue.
I am enrolled in the National College of Midwifery, and I desire is to empower women during birth, and to help them realize that they are strong, and capable of accomplishing everything they want from their birth. I look forward to helping many mothers and babies in the future!
